Womens All Age - Looking Forward to 2017

2016 has been another successful season for our Women’s All Age players with the A team completing their 8 consecutive season in the very competitive Division 1 and our new B team who were Division 3 Runners Up in their first season.

But it’s not just the performances on the pitch that made this season the best ever.

With the combination of existing WAA players, the addition of our GU18 players from last year and the introduction of some great newcomers there is now a squad of 35 players who have enjoyed a great season of training, playing and socialising together.

With the support of the NSFA we have been able to play our home games after each other so not only do we get a large group of supporters at each game but also there is always a BBQ afterwards so everyone can enjoy a Sunday afternoon of football.

Next season, with the help of our 2 coaches, Nick Mountford and Tom Woodward, we are looking to expand the squad to 3 teams for the first time.

SO, if there are any over 18 year old past players out there (especially Mums!) who want to get back into football next season please contact Jacqueline Goldfinch - and she’ll keep you posted with what will be happening for 2017.

WAA compete in Charity 7-a-side Tournament

On Sunday 9th October some of our WAA squad played in the UTS 7-a-side tournament at Charles Bean Oval, although they didn't win the tournament they had good fun and were proudly supported by Pippa Lindsay, WAA player Holly Lindsay's daughter and grand-daughter of their coach Nick Mountford.

U13A into the Final of Champion of Champions

Our U13A team played in Final of Champion of Champions last Sunday against Forest Killarney.  Unfortunately they lost the match 4 - 0, but what a great achievement to reach the Final.  The boys and their coach and manager should be very proud of their performance this year.  Well done everyone!

60th Year 7-a-side Tournament

To celebrate Wahroonga Tigers FC 60th anniversary a Club 7-a-side tournament was arranged with representatives of all the Clubs Senior teams competing in a mixed competition.

The event took place on Sunday 11th September at Ku-Ring-Gai High School with over 40 players from Men's and Women's all age, plus players from the Men's O35's and O45's getting involved.

The games were played in great spirit with plenty of quality football - the matches were all evenly contested and enjoyed by all players.  Captain of the winning team Dave Whitett - seen holding up the trophy - commented on what an excellent event it was.

With the success of the tournament the committee are looking at making this an annual event - something that all of those who participated would be very pleased to see!

O45 Win League and Grand Final

Congratulations to our O45 2R team who completed the double by beating Kissing Point 5 - 0 in the Grand Final, after winning the league!
